We developed a pilot‑scale carbonizer for the University of Technology and Economics in České Budějovice. Designed for research and development purposes, the device enables the study and optimization of carbonization processes for various biological feedstocks at pilot scale.

Implementation:

  1. Design & Engineering: The carbonizer was designed for controlled carbonization within a modular system, allowing flexibility in handling different input materials. Structural design focused on durability and adaptability.
  1. Manufacturing & Assembly: The carbonizer includes a robust high‑temperature chamber with a regulated heating system and built‑in heat exchanger. Installation also features sensors and a control system for process monitoring.

Outcome:

The device provides the academic and research community with a reliable tool for testing and optimizing carbonization processes. The pilot‑scale carbonizer enables the collection of data on efficiency, yield, and quality of biochar or syngas, supporting the development of innovative biotechnology solutions.
